Jennifer Lee (Author)

Fantasy that lingers long after the last page

About Me

Hi, I’m Jennifer Lee, an author drawn to the space where darkness meets understanding. Writing has always been my way of exploring the fragile balance between hope and despair — and finding meaning in the shadows.
My novels, Far From Oz and Falling from Neverland, unravel haunting yet heartfelt stories about truth, loss, and healing. My upcoming book, Free from the Looking Glass, continues that journey, reflecting on identity and the illusions we must break to find ourselves.
Through my stories, I hope to reach those who’ve ever felt lost or unseen — reminding them that even in darkness, there is light to be found.

Diving IN

For years, I’ve started blogs with the intention of sharing my art and writing journey—but life always seemed to get in the way. Each time, I’d let doubt creep in and silence my creativity. Yet, with every pause came growth. I learned formatting, experimented with design, and discovered the power of creation through tools like Canva. Now, I’m learning how AI can help me move forward—not as a shortcut, but as a creative partner.

AI has become an incredible tool for editing, brainstorming, and even image creation. I know there’s a lot of debate surrounding its use, but for artists and writers like me, it has opened doors I could never afford before. Before Canva and AI, I paid others to format my books and design my covers—only to realize the final results didn’t reflect what I envisioned. That disappointment lit a fire in me. I wanted to learn. I watched countless videos, spent long nights figuring out formatting, and taught myself how to create the images I saw in my mind.

Now, with AI, the process moves faster. I can focus more on storytelling, on the parts that truly matter. I’m also relearning how to create book trailers and promotional content—something I’ve always loved doing. With so many creative tools at my fingertips (and within budget), I have no excuse to keep my craft on the back burner anymore.

Between two jobs and two energetic grandbabies running through the house, time is precious—but inspiration is stronger than ever. Using AI to help design the covers for Far From Oz and Falling From Neverland has reignited that spark I thought I’d lost. ChatGPT has also become my quiet writing companion, offering gentle feedback and editing suggestions that have helped me grow as an author. Grammar has never been my strong suit, so when I received feedback that a chapter didn’t need polishing, I was overjoyed. It gave me confidence to keep pushing forward.

Today, I’m proud of how far I’ve come. My creativity is expanding, my skills are growing, and my passion is leading me into new projects—like a children’s book series I’m creating with my oldest daughter. I’m challenging myself with every trailer, every edit, and every story I bring to life.

This time, I’m not holding back. I’m diving in completely.
